- Leave your camera out- don't leave it in a bag or in a closet. You will use when it at grabbing range.
- Second only take one or two shots and then just be in the moment. So when you at that next big event, which mine will be kids christmas concert, I will snap a picture or two. Then just enjoy concert. I really want to be in the moment and I know they want me to be, too.
Being the person with knowlegde and equipment to always be one to be asked to take pictures or video, I realized that I don't always want to be one doing it. I don't want to live behind the lens. I want to be in the moment, better yet savor it. This video is the mind set I want to care on.
I took a online photography class from ashleyannphotgraphy.com and I learned two famous tips.

Ideas, ideas, ideas. Sometimes I feel this is a curse and sometimes a blessing, to be able to think of so many ideas. As a teacher I find my students challenged with coming up with the idea(s). I will hear them say, "I don't know what to do." Then after a minute of my time & collaborating with them the light bulb turns on.
Because, I am always thinking of ideas , I find myself overwhelm with to many. I will write them down in my sketch journal. I usually will also fill my pockets up with all these projects, ideas, and thoughts through out my day. I slide them into my journal for later keepings. I am alway saving for that one free day or moments. This year resolution is make the time for execution. Just DO IT!
My final thought for this post is doesn't have to be perfect. Every idea may not be perfect or great but I have so much more to gain by doing it. Below is example of two mugs two different students made. One turn out other end up in trash can by the student. I told him he probably learn more then successful one. I hope to keep this mind set for my own work.
My inspiration for writing this post was from reading this post

One of my son's favorite places to be is where no one can find him. So, whenever he gets a chance to have a mule ride at grandpa house he is ready to go.
This pick is out of focus but I still love it. How the light hit his face and it actually looks like they are getting along. Now days, all they want to do is fight.
Whenever he is concentrating his tongue will stick out. I guess he is really focused on me and the camera!
Lastly, a shout to Erin for these rocking new shoes! I love them and everyone seem to notice them. Took me awhile to stop looking down at them myself.

As I look out the window and see the first dusting of snow falling. I realize how important seasons are to a farmer wife. As cold is approaching fast so is more time I have with my husband. We have our double crop beans yet but beside that 2013 season is almost over. I know my husband winter to do list is pretty long.
July wheat (July 16).

The other night I couldn't wait for my husband to get home and give me 5 minutes. All I needed was 5 minutes, to rest, to stop, to pray. Life as mother, as teacher, as sister, as daughter, as wife, as friend, as artist, can be overwhelming. Someday I feel like I fall short. I am always trying to give my best to others. I have realize I don't have much time to give my best to myself.
MY GOAL is to do one project a week.
I wish I had written the Artist's Creed....when I feel like I should be doing laundry, dishes, lesson plans, grading, playing with my kids instead of creating art, I will read this!
I BELIEVE I am worth the time it takes to create whatever it is I am called to create.
I BELIEVE my work is worthy of its own space which is worthy of the name "Sacred".
I BELIEVE that when I enter this space I have the right to work in silence uninterrupted for as long as I choose.
I BELIEVE that when I open myself up to the gifts of the muse, I open myself up to the source of all creation.
I BELIEVE that my work is joyful, peaceful, and constantly changing, flowing thru me like a river with no beginning and no end.
I BELIEVE that what it is I am called to do will make itself known when I am ready.
I BELIEVE that the time I spend creating my art is as precious as the time I spend giving to others.
I BELIEVE that what truly matters in the making of art is not what the final piece looks like or sounds like, not what it is worth or not worth, but what newness gets added to the universe in the process of the piece becoming.
I BELIEVE that I am not alone in my attempts to create, and that once I begin the work, settle into the strangeness, the words will take shape, the form will find life, and the spirit will take flight.
I BELIEVE that as the muse gives to me, so does she deserve from me - faith, mindfulness, and enduring commitment.

"See it believing," in this case not seeing is building trust and understanding of others. In my ceramic class each week we have a review activity or assignment. It ranges from doing on line survey question asking what they accomplish the week and what they hope to accomplish. To building puzzles with Elements of Art vocabulary, reading out loud, and demo vocabulary word in clay. This week my thought was let review parts of pots but jazz it up by doing it blindfolded. I seen so many smiles and joy from my high school level students that it was contagious.

Some things you can't control in life and one of these is mother nature. My husband said mother nature doesn't care who we are. We are living on her territory. Below are pictures of storm that hit us July 2013.
Still working on clean up the mess. Have got a lot of family help. We had power but rest of family lost power for a few days. Everything happens for a reason, right.

Today kids are with grandma and I get to enjoy my fresh garden steak salad lunch all by myself. Big Smiles!
Rain, Rain, Go Away! It has been raining so much, the last 19 days we had rain. Last night we had a second wind that took down some big branches.
Kids watching mommy and daddy pick up the mess. They love playing in the rain puddles.
