Every moment is a teachable. Being a teacher, I always feel like there never enough time to teach everything to my students. The same sense applies to my own children. So, what I like to do is make each moment count. I will leave few of their assignments that they brought home from school in a basket. Then while I am preparing dinner I will grab one or two and have them practice. I found by leave a few assignments out at time and just rotate them, that the get excited about seeing something they did awhile ago. It good because I am able to see what they retained.
Or I will come up with activity on the fly. Like below, I put water in bowl and let them put their toys in it so see what things float and sink and why. I think they wanted to put all their toys in. Simple concept but never assume kids know, and it can always lead to more complex thought.
My favorite critiquing a painting, better yet Mommy painting. They tell truth not just it pretty or cool. No fear!
Or just find a neat idea and see if it works....

Making learning fun is always best but better yet learn and not realizing you are learning, awesome. My motto
Share early, share often! Liz
